Current Prime Nurse Trained or Recent IV Certification and Cannulation experience (within 6 months) 

  • Yes - then complete the Drugs Calculations and one Competency Form.

 

No recent experience or training

  1. Register and complete the SDHB/WellSouth IVE learning package training.
  2. Complete Medication and Fluid Foundation 2 at HealthLearn
  3. Bring printed certification to skills workshop
  4. Complete Drug Calculations Quiz
  5. Attend IV Cannulation Skills workshop
  6. Complete a further three cannulations in the next four weeks and complete competence forms
