Southland Educational Weekend 2018
May 2018 saw the 2nd Southland Educational Weekend take place at Borland lodge, Blackmount. 47 GP's enjoyed networking and socialising opportunities, great food and great stories over two days of presentations from specialists on Dementia, Musculoskeletal, abdominal trauma and management of multimorbidity.
MC Gerry Forde opened up the weekend with a few laughs and Cyril Gilroy, Kaumatua and Victor Manawatu, Kaumatua official kicked our event.
Attendees took advantage of time to relax and chill out, get active outdoors, rock climbing, catch up with old friends over a cuppa or a quick snooze during the mid afternoon break.
Saturday night entertainment started with Open Mic where people shared life adventures, recited poems and sang - who knew we had so many talented individuals. Andres Saaverda kicked of the later entertainment with some fine singing. More hidden talents among our GP community emerged with both Stephen Graham and Konrad Richter playing guitar and singing.
After some fine food, fantastic speakers Sunday came to a close. Old friendships renewed, new networking connections cemented and hours and hours of conversation had, our GP's final words were:
Superb Weekend Great Social Weekend Friendly lovely staff from Wellsouth Quality presenters Great Venue Networking/time to relax Great CME The food was amazing
