Southern Suicide Prevention Symposium: Working together to prevent suicide - 10 &11 September

WellSouth, Life Matters Trust, Southern DHB and University of Otago are coming together for a symposium on suicide prevention.

The aim of the two-day conference is to improve suicide prevention, intervention and postvention in the Southern District, through the sharing of clinical experiences, research, information, and by making connections.

Presentations will focus on:

• Poipoi wairua – Trauma-informed responses
• Hautūtanga Māori – Māori leadership in suicide prevention
• Whānau ora – whānau and families and community-centred
• Referral pathways and processes in the Southern District
• Assessment processes in primary and secondary care
• Mahi tahi – working together (community, clinical, research)
