With your resources and our resources, our people will prosper
The WellSouth Health Promotion Team is excited to offer a community capacity building initiative –Te Tipuria Fund – to help those working to improve local food environments.
Te Tipuria is designed for community groups and rōpū in Otago and Southland focused on running food related activities to improve health who are wanting to develop and strengthen the knowledge and skills of volunteers, staff, or management to better serve their communities.
There are two funding streams:
- Te Tipuria Pūtea Mahi Whakaahu can provide up to $1000 per tono (application) for local marae, rūnaka or iwi rōpū, Māori community-based rōpū, voluntary organisations or social enterprises working with tāngata whenua in a low-income or high-needs community.
- Te Tipuria Growth & Development Fund can provide up to $1000 per application for community groups, voluntary organisations or social enterprises working in a low-income or high-needs community.
Before completing an application, we suggest rōpū and groups read the accompanying guidance notes for information on eligibility, food-related capacity building activities, and evidence requirements. Te Tipuria guidance notes and tono/application forms are available to be downloaded here. Or, please contact the Health Promotion Team to receive printed copies.
We look forward to hearing from community groups and rōpū doing important mahi in the food environment and making a difference in our local communities.
Applications close at 5pm, Monday 17 September 2018.
