Branko Cvjetan - Team Leader Dietetics, Long Term Conditions and HPV

Originally from Dunedin I returned home in 2023 after 20 years away. I’m privileged to lead both the Dietitian and Long Term Condition teams here at WellSouth. I hold a bachelor’s degree in human nutrition, a postgraduate diploma in Dietetics from the University of Otago and master's in public health from the University of Auckland. I’ve worked in health for over 25 years in hospitals, community and non-governmental organisations.

I’m passionate about men’s health, reducing inequity and keeping health advice straightforward and practical. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and taking part in local running events usually somewhere near the back of the field.

Arlene Delgado - Clinical Services Administrator Invercargill

I joined WellSouth in 2023 as a Clinical Services Administrator, bringing with me a strong background in administrative operations and team support. Before that, I was the Administrator at South Port, where I gained valuable experience managing complex workflows, coordinating across departments, and ensuring everything operated efficiently.

I really enjoy working behind the scenes to help everything come together—whether it's organising processes, supporting clinical teams, or simply making sure the day flows as it should. I'm passionate about working in roles that make a positive difference and love being part of a team that supports the health and wellbeing of our community.

Mirriam Mackay - Long-Term Conditions Administrator Invercargill

Originally from Hawkes Bay I moved to Invercargill 12 years ago.  My background is School Dental Therapy working with children and, also as an orthodontic auxiliary working with both adults and teenagers.

I am now the coordinator for the WellSouth Take Control of Your Diabetes program for Type 2 diabetics and the Walking Away program for pre diabetics.  These programs are offered to patients in our large Southland/Otago area from Oamaru to Bluff.

I am passionate about communicating well to patients to make them feel comfortable and valued, that their health matters and that we together as a team can make a difference in their overall health.  With vastly different cultures and backgrounds I find this incredibly rewarding that with a simple phone call they feel welcome to attend.

My other role at WellSouth is an administrator for the HPV school based vaccination program. I travel with the nurses to the larger schools in the Southland district and assist them with management of the children.

Rachel Hall Primary - Care Nurse Central Otago

Apart from three years in secondary care and five years at Hospice Southland, I have worked exclusively in primary care.  Practice Nursing, Practice Nurse Education Mentor, Immunisation Coordinator and various positions within WellSouth which have included coordinating the School Based HPV Immunisation Programme in Southland and Long Term Conditions Nurse with a focus on asthma and COPD. Originally from Invercargill, I have been based in Central Otago since 2019.

Monica Cooney – Long Term Conditions Nurse Invercargill

I joined WellSouth in 2024, bringing with me extensive experience from both private practice and the public health sector.

I previously held the role of Nurse Clinical Lead and Practice Nurse in Invercargill, where I was responsible for overseeing clinical operations and supporting nursing staff. Prior to this, I worked at Wellington Hospital as the Clinical Nurse Coordinator for Cardiac, Ophthalmology, and ENT surgical services, where I managed surgical lists and coordinated multidisciplinary teams across these specialties.

I am passionate about supporting nurse education and advancing public awareness around nutrition and healthcare. I am committed to improving health outcomes through collaboration, knowledge-sharing and evidence-based practice.

Maz Donaldson - Long term Conditions Nurse Dunedin

I have been a Registered Nurse for many years, with a passion for Primary Health Care and Diabetes working as a Practice Nurse, in the UK and in NZ, and as a Diabetes Specialist Nurse in the UK.
