In Queenstown, Queenstown Medical Centre has an After-Hours Urgent Care service for non-life-threatening illnesses and broken bones. It’s a walk-in clinic at 9 Isle St, open 9am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 5pm on weekends and public holidays.

In Wanaka, there is an after-hours roster for GPs from 6pm to 8.30am. Please call either call Aspiring Medical Centre (03 443 0725) or Wanaka Medical Centre or (03 443 0710) you will be directed to the After Hours Service, who will advise you if you need to be seen, what to do and where to go.

The Lakes District Hospital’s walk-in 24-hour Emergency Department is off Lucas Place, Frankton. For some specialist hospital services patients may be transported to Invercargill or Dunedin for further treatment.
