Take Control of Your Diabetes
About the programme
Take Control of Your Diabetes is a short and informative, locally-run programme to support people and their whānau to understand and manage their condition more confidently.
This evidence-based programme was developed by our long-term conditions team – which includes nurses, dietitians and pharmacists.
There is no cost to attend the sessions, and you will receive a resource pack at the end of the course to reinforce what you have learned, while meeting with others who are on a similar journey in your area.
What is covered?
The session covers:

Better understanding of how diabetes may affect your day-to-day life.

How to recognise and manage symptoms.

Tips and advice to keep living well with diabetes.
You will also get advice on glycaemic control, nutrition, physical activity, smoking cessation, medication use, stress management, sleep hygiene, goal setting and action planning.
