Did you know WellSouth has its own Foundation Standards Assessors?

We’re proud to offer our very own team of Authorised RNZCGP Foundation Standards Assessors to support general practices with Foundation Standards accreditation. Our assessors are trained and moderated by the RNZCGP, so operate under all College guidelines and requirements.

Our team brings a diverse range of experience to the role, with each assessor having previously worked as a practice manager. This background allows them to understand the practical challenges practices face and provide informed, supportive guidance throughout the assessment process. Their goal is to ensure the experience is as smooth and straightforward as possible.

To request an assessment, simply email us at practicenetwork@wellsouth.org.nz. We’ll do our best to match you with an available Assessor as soon as possible. Once you book with us, a WellSouth Assessor will work directly with your practice to schedule a convenient time and walk you through each step of the assessment and practice visit requirements.

Please note: While we do our best to meet every request, there may be times when our Assessors are fully booked.

If you’d prefer to use an assessor outside of WellSouth, you can find an external Assessor through the RNZCGP website

Foundation Programme

To meet PHO Service Agreement Amendment Protocol (PSAAP) requirements and qualify for capitation funding, practices will need to complete the College's revamped Foundation programme. The standalone programme provides a baseline standard expected of General Practice.

Cornerstone Programme

The College has made some significant changes to the Cornerstone programme, including the introduction of accreditation levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Practices will need to complete two core modules - Equity and Continuous Quality Improvement, to maintain or be awarded Cornerstone Bronze accreditation. Practices can build on this, completing further modules to reach Silver or Gold status.
