Health NZ's Co-Payment Templates 2024-25

Health NZ provides these Co-Payment Templates annually to ensure the ASRFI reflects the individual's practices situation and assist with the fee increase process. These Templates calculate your ASRFI based on your patient numbers and can show your increased fees as a percentage of change in revenue. We have included them below for practices interested in testing whether their fees fall within their reasonable fee increase before submitting them to WellSouth. Practices do not need to fill out these templates themselves. WellSouth will handle this process on your behalf. These Templates are provided solely for your transparency and interest, allowing you to see the calculations if desired.

Template Options:

• Option A: This template provides a quick approximation of your practice's ASRFI based on national average co-payment utilisation rates. Enter the number of enrolled patients (get this information from Thalamus), Co-payments as of June 30th (current year), and the new co-payment change. The template will then generate a summary of permissible percentage increases for guidance.

• Option B: This template provides a definitive answer but requires more detailed information. You’ll need to enter the annual standard medical consultations for each age group over the past 12 months, as well as the total revenue received by the practice for capitation payments, excluding GST.

Please Note: When entering your patient numbers, ensure you only include your non-CSC holders for patients aged 14 and above. As this can affect your ASRFI amount.

Notification Process:

WellSouth will complete the necessary sections for these templates. If you prefer to fill them out yourself, include the completed template with your Fee Amendment Form when submitting to WellSouth.
